Delivery times
We aim to fulfill and dispatch all order in stock within 1-3 working days. Once we’ve sent the order, the delivery time will depend on the destination and any external circumstances. We send all our parcels through Australia Post. Please visit their website to find out their estimated delivery times.
Ordered items with 0 stock
Items on order are available at the distributor. As soon as we receive an order we make a request to the distributor to provide the item. This usually takes 2 – 3 business days. When we recieve the item we will send it to you immediately. Please allow for 7 – 10 working days for ordered items with 0 stock.
If the item is not available at the distributor – or if it will take longer than usual, we will contact you and issue a refund on request.
Shipping costs
- Australia: $7.00 for a single book (additional $3 for each extra book). Free shipping for orders of $250.
- Express post within Australia: $15.95, for parcels up to 3kg only
- New Zealand: $15 flat rate
- International (except New Zealand): $30 flat rate
Please note, shipping estimates on large orders may be revised.

Redeeming gift cards & online gift vouchers
The Chestnut Tree Bookshop accepts Australian Booksellers Association gift cards. Simply enter the barcode on the back of your gift card or the barcode on your online voucher when you proceed through checkout.
Refund Policy
Goods must be returned within 30 days of purchase or receipt (whichever is the later) and be in perfect condition in their original packaging.
Perishable goods (including any food products and or goods which have an expiry date) will not be eligible for exchange or refund unless such goods are damaged, supplied incorrectly or sold not as described.
We will refund to your original payment method.
